Second week enjoying watersports at Astbury Mere
Nursery Rules
We have been talking about our ‘Golden Rules’ this week and have made some new ones to refresh our memories about how to behave and what we should and shouldn’t do in Nursery. All of the children contributed to the new rules and we all put our fingerprints on to the rules to say that we agreed to follow them.

Astbury Watersports Week 1
Paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing were today’s activities. It might have been raining, but that didn’t dampen spirits. The children had tonnes of fun!
Cluedo-fest!
Pointless Maths
African Drumming!
This week in Year One, we have been learning all about African music and following a patterned beat. The children loved having the African drums (Djembes) out in the classroom. They have learnt the different types of African instruments whilst learning the different sounds they could make on the drums. We apologise for all the noise!
Planting a seed
This morning, we talked about how seeds grow. The children came up with some brilliant ideas, so we then went and planted our own seeds. We all had our own pot. filled them with compost, added seeds and then watered them. Finally, we all chose where in Nursery we were going to put them to make them grow and discussed why.
