Today, Nursery took part in Year 3’s lovely idea for enterprise week. We dressed up in black and yellow and donated to the WE ❤️ MCR fund.

Learning to whistle with grass
Mrs Pearce taught us how to whistle using a piece of grass between our thumbs. Some of us were more successful than others!
Our last week at Astbury Mere
We’ve had a great 5 weeks doing different water sports at Astbury Mere. This week, we got to choose which activity we wanted to do. There wasn’t one dry child between us! We then had a picnic by the Mere to dry off.
Bible Explorers Week 1
On Monday, Year 5 had our first bible explorers lesson with Beth from New Life Church. We learnt about some of the stories from the old testiment and we learnt actions 
for each story .We really enjoyed it when Beth lets us dress up and act out scenes from the stories we learnt. It was a really fun way to learn about the bible and we can’t wait until next time!

Making Mozzarella Pizza
This morning in Nursery, we all made our very own pizza slices! Firstly, we all got the chance to smell and feel mozzarella… some of us weren’t too sure about it but still enjoyed it on our pizza. We had to spread tomato puree on the base and then select our favourite toppings to add to them. We then put the pizza in the oven and took them home in our pre-designed pizza boxes! It was so much fun!

Afternoon tea with Year 6
The Year 6 children invited parents and staff to Afternoon tea, in order to say thank you. They planned, priced, baked and served the delicious treats.
African Masks!
Today in Class 1b, we have been making our very own African masks! We have had to paper maché our milk bottles, paint them black then add our very own African patterns that we have learnt this term. We hope you enjoy them!
Nursery learning to speak and sing in Italian
This morning we were very lucky to have a visit from one of our parents who taught us all how to speak and sing in Italian. We learnt how to sing ring-a-ring-o-roses in Italian and also a new song we had not heard before. We were all then given the opportunity to ask how to say certain words, say please and thank you, ask for certain fruit and snack and how to count to ten.
We really appreciate any time given by our parents to help us all learn new things… Thank you so much for a wonderful morning of learning Italian!
Making spaghetti bolognese
As part of our focus on Italy, the children asked to make bolognese. We discussed the ingredients we would need and then each had a go at chopping them before adding them to a pan. We used quorn, onions, peppers, herbs and tomato. All of the children had a go at mixing the ingredients, then we all went to the kitchen to put the bolognese on the hob. We talked about cooker safety and why we needed to stand away from the cooker and let a grown-up cook.
For snack, we then ate our amazing creation! All of the children tried the bolognese and some even asked for seconds!🍝
Busy Bees
This afternoon we have been busy making Bee pencil toppers to sell during our enterprise week. We will be selling them all week as part of our enterprise for £1

Bible Explorer Week 1
Today we have started our Bible Explorer sessions with the introduction to the bible – Genesis.
Week 4 at Astbury Mere
We had a brilliant morning raft building in teams. Some were much more successful than others!
What Nursery are thankful for…
We encouraged the children to have some quiet time and spend this time thinking about who and what they are grateful for throughout the minutes silence held over the last couple of weeks. Earch child drew a picture and discussed what they thought about in the time. I think you will agree that they all came up with some fantastic ideas!
Making tomato soup…
We had lots of tomatoes left over today, so to save them from being wasted we discussed what we could make with them. The children decided they would like to make tomato soup. They chopped the tomatoes and added them to the pan, before cooking and tasting their creation!
