Christmas fun

Year 3 and 4 have been working together this morning to complete Christmas craft activities; they have made their own baubles, Christmas tree decorations, dress the snowman, Christmas colouring, iPad activities, laptop time, different games and even some baking. We loved the baking especially having a lick of the bowl afterwards. When we asked if we were allowed to Mrs Daley said ‘why not it’s Christmas’ 😋

Sports Day

On Thursday 7th July, Marlfields Primary Academy had their Sports Day. Key Stage 1 did theirs in the morning and Key Stage 2 in the afternoon. Everyone had a great time and some of the races were very close! We would like to thank Multiflex for their commitment and help to make sports more accessible to us.

Olympic Artwork

For our school display about the Olympics we learnt about the 2012 Olympics which were held in London. We worked really hard designing then making our final pictures.  Watch this space for final pieces of work and the finished whole school display.

What a royal day

We’ve had a lovely day celebrating the Queen’s birthday. We had our picnic lunch on the field and then we finished it off with cake AND jelly. We loved our cake the best as smarties all fell out of it after Mrs Boon had cut it open.  Pictures of the cake to follow…

A musical morning!

This morning all the KS2 children were invited to Congleton Town Hall to be entertained by the Harvestehude Symphony Orchestra, from Hamburg. Their conductor, Hanish Shankar, introduced us to all the different sections and instruments in the orchestra. Millie and Geordan were surprised when they played happy birthday to them. We were able to ask the musicians questions and even some of us had a try at conducting. Apparently, the most important part of conducting is schussing your hair! The orchestra played a 15 minute piece by Brahms. It was a great experience.

Dewa Roman Experience

We had a fantastic day in Chester, learning all about the Romans.  We were all on our best behaviour and really demonstrated how well we can all listen.
