Today Mr George from CHS visited us to teach us how to be play leaders. We learnt to play several games: Head, shoulders, knees, cone; Crazy tag; Secret agent tag and Among us tag. We will teach the other children how to play these games, organise them and make sure they are played safely.

This afternoon we hosted our annual coffee afternoon to raise as much money as possible for MacMillan. The children dressed up in green and white alongside many of the adults! There was lots of yummy cakes shared and lots of money raised. Thank you to everyone that was able to come and those who donated.

On Friday, as part of our DT, we tasted lots of different types of bread: whole meal; pitta; ciabatta; bagels; baguettes; and brioche. We used all of our senses to describe the breads and then did the best bit…….. tasting!

Thursday was the first time for craft club. We learnt how to crochet and make superheroes out of lollipop sticks. It was fun!

Year 4 have made some fabulous Roman shields. They are battle ready!

Sinister, Dexter (left, right) We marched, with the shields we made, onto the battlefield. Following the instructions of our leader. We made ourselves into a turtle to protect us from bows and arrows. We are now THE YEAR 4 ROMAN ARMY!

This week Year 1 have been very busy. We have been painting, making sliding mechanisms and working on our throwing and catching skills.

The classroom was turned into an Art Gallery today. They were welcomed by the Curator (Mr Price!) who told the children about AW Turner and some of his works. The children talked about which painting was their favourite and why. The curator then disappeared and Mr Price returned to class!
