We had a busy, fun filled week of selling cakes, squidgies, treasure hunts, plants and much more. Then we all helped to count the money we had raised and loved it as the total kept growing! We’d like to say a huge thank you to every single child or parent or teacher who sent money or bought from our enterprise. The total will be revealed soon then we can decide on how we all want to spend the money!
On Monday, we used the designs in our Art books to make pots out of clay. We shaped them and decorated them using a stick.
Year 5 had their 2nd play leader session today. Their first task was to put the class into a line from tallest to smallest without speaking! They then played a different version of the Floor is Lava using hoops as stepping stones. Next they learnt to play Octopus tag. Did you know you can play rock, paper, scissors with your feet? The last game they learnt to play was Catch the Flag and came up with their own alternative rules.
Today, we continued to improve our knitting and crochet skills and in craft we made paper chain bats!
Today the Year 5 children finished the stories from the Old Testament in the bible. They completed a quiz and all received a certificate. Next half term they start the New Testament.
Todays craft club was filled with knitters, crocheters and pine cone owls!
We have been using imperative verbs, chronological order, number points and bullet points to write instructions for a number of different reasons. Today we wrote instructions on how to make a jam sandwich. The children were amazing by how simple some instructions were but all enjoyed a tasty jam sandwich by the end.
Year 5 are enjoying their weekly lessons by Beth and Jeremy, learning about the bible stories in the Old Testament.
More crochet and Autumn Crafts this week. In crochet we learnt a single crochet stitch and in crafts we made an Autumn wreath.
Today we split into groups and looked for red, green and brown things from the outdoor environment. We then squashed, smashed and smudged everything to make our Stone Age pictures.
