What a wonderful day we had at Quinta Forest yesterday. We were kept busy all day stream dipping, den building, playing games, scavenging and lighting fires. I think that both classes will agree that the highlight was toasting marshmallows on the campfire. Everyone came home with muddy feet (some muddier than others) and wet socks. A sign of a good day in my book!!
Wow, what a way to start Science Week! Mrs Abraham introduced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) through some exciting investigations. We found out all about the fabulous activities and challenges that will be taking place over the week. We will be having a Celebration Assembly on Friday at 2.30pm where members of each class will explain what they have taken part in and learnt over the week. Please come and join us in assembly on Friday, to find out what we have all done!
We started with instant frozen yoghurt and writing explanations then bottle shaking, followed by giant tooth paste. Tomorrow Forest School then a slime day on Thursday!
Today we spent some of the morning in the snow before coming back inside to get warm. This afternoon we have made triaramas to represent a room of our favourite fictional book characters.
We have wolf poems based on our work on Romulus and Remus.
As dark as the midnight sky, her eyes gleamed,
Exhausted, she lay on the snow covered ground,
By the rushing river, hidden in grass she sat,
Dampening her warm fur, the spray from the river made rainbows,
Although she was hungry, she kept silent and still.
We drew wolf pictures to go with our poems.
