Making wreaths

Today, we have  made our very own Christmas wreaths. We talked about what colours are associated with Christmas and what a wreath symbolises. We then used our fine motor skills to weave the branches into the frame. We were very kindly donated the wreath frames from a local garden centre, so we have also made a card from us all to say a big thank you! 🎅🏼

It’s Chrismas!

Yesterday, we walked into a winter wonderland! Santa had made a workshop in Nursery, he had also sent an elf to watch over us all. Our reading area  had transformed  into an igloo, with Christmas story shelves and we also had a a grotto with a big tree for us to decorate.

Christmas Countdown

In Reception on the 1st of December Reception learnt all about Advent Calendars and why we have them at Christmas Time.

The day started with the children coming into class and finding an Elf sat on the shelf. He had a letter in his hand explaining Father Christmas had sent him to our Reception Class to watch the children’s behaviour.

The Elf had also brought Christmas to the classroom…

The children then helped decorate the Christmas Tree….

We also played an Advent Calendar game in Phonics where the children had to identify the initial sound of the pictures behind the doors.
