Making chocolate cake

We tried carefully to remember all of the different food that the caterpillar ate in the story- we did an amazing job and remembered pretty much every item!

We then voted for which one we would like to make. We had lots of different answers and marked them off next to the correct food image and then counted how many votes each one had. The winner was… CHOCOLATE CAKE!

We weighed and mixed all of the ingredients, baked the cake and then spread chocolate over the top of it. We had to stop Miss Carter eating all of the chocolate though!

Likes and dislikes

As part of our Talk for Writing text, we have been talking about fruit which we like and dislike from ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’. We made the correct number of each fruit, painted them the correct colour, discussed the texture of each one as we have previously tried all of them and then wrote our names on and placed a tick or cross to show whether we liked or disliked them.

Nursery’s obstacle course

This morning we went up on to the field and split up into 2 teams. Both groups gave their team a name and then competed against each other to complete an obstacle course. They had to star jump, run round cones, jump over hurdles, step over a ladder, crawl through tunnels and under a net!

The wind was so strong that it blew the tunnels down the field and we all chased after them!

Fabulous Friction

This week in class three we investigated how the type of surface affected the amount of friction created on a toy car

We found that the bubble wrap created the most friction and the tin foil the least. So, the rougher the surface, the greater the friction.
