Fun at ‘Love Books’
As Time Goes By Club Session 2
Today the children went on their second visit to share time together with the older members of the community at Trinity Church Cafe. The children took their chicks with them to introduce to their new friends.
The children began by sharing their experience of hatching chicks with everyone.
We then all shared a story together about Dora’s eggs.
The children and adults then shared a craft activity making pictures about the story of Dora and her chicks.
To finish out time together we finished with Rhyme Time – the children chose some of their favorite Nursery Rhymes to sing.
The Chicks Came to Visit Nursery
Yesterday, the chicks from Reception came on a visit to Nursery. We were then able to hold a chick and spoke about how to look after them. We discussed that they need water and food and we must keep them dry at all times.

Investigating plants
In Year 2 this morning we have been outside looking at all of the different plants and flowers we can see in our environment. We talked about why plants and flowers begin to grow at certain times of the year. We knew that plants need sunlight to grow but realised that some plants don’t grow in the winter even though the sun is shining. As we are super plant detectives we quickly noticed that it needs to be a certain temperature for the plants to grow as well as having sunlight. Some plants and flowers can survive in lower temperature in comparison to others who need a much warmer temperature.

Fizzy Tots Session in Nursery
Nursery had lots of fun today in PE. The children had to jump, crawl, run and bounce as they pretended to be a dinosaur. The children then had to try and aim the beanbag into the hoop.

Special Delivery…
At the start of the week, Mrs Bennett arrived with a large envelope for Nursery. We opened the envelope to find a letter from a meerkat called Sunny… all the way from the Kalahari desert! Sunny sent a copy of ‘Meerkat Mail’ with his note, for us to learn all about his adventures in our new English focus text.
