Wow, what a way to start Science Week! Mrs Abraham introduced STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) through some exciting investigations. We found out all about the fabulous activities and challenges that will be taking place over the week. We will be having a Celebration Assembly on Friday at 2.30pm where members of each class will explain what they have taken part in and learnt over the week. Please come and join us in assembly on Friday, to find out what we have all done!

Today we spent some of the morning in the snow before coming back inside to get warm. This afternoon we have made triaramas to represent a room of our favourite fictional book characters.

Musical Theatre Workshop at Clonter
On Wednesday 13th September, Year 5 and 6 were treated to a day of song and music at Clonter Opera Theatre in Congleton and we all had so much fun!
Our first activity was to make a mini design set- the children could choose for their theme to be either: Year 3000, World War I, Island themed or Winter Wonderland and without any question, all of the Year 6’s chose their theme as World War I (which is very fitting as we are doing World War II as our topic this term!) All of the children did a fabulous job and one of our teams even won the best set design and were presented with a certificate- well done to the winning team
PS: Sorry for the delay in posting this.. we’ve been experiencing technical difficulties…

Bundles of bounce!
This afternoon Year 6 had a great time at Eaton Bank trampolining. The children made great progress with some even trying forward somersaults.
Mathematical spirals
During our recent Maths’ sessions we have learnt about and drawn Archimedean, Baravelle and Golden spirals. This Geometry unit has shown us how Maths is all around us, in art and in nature.

Learning to whistle with grass
Mrs Pearce taught us how to whistle using a piece of grass between our thumbs. Some of us were more successful than others!
Our last week at Astbury Mere
We’ve had a great 5 weeks doing different water sports at Astbury Mere. This week, we got to choose which activity we wanted to do. There wasn’t one dry child between us! We then had a picnic by the Mere to dry off.
