Alice in Wonderland

On Tuesday we participated in a drama workshop based on Alice in Wonderland. After warming up, we worked in three groups to create freeze frames about three scenes from the story. Group 1 worked on the part of the story that was in the kitchen where Alice was sneezing because she was allergic to the pepper. The Mad Hatter’s tea party was re-enacted by Group 2, where there was a peculiar range of guests. Finally, group 3 performed the scene from the Queen of Hearts’ garden where she instructed the cards to paint the roses.

On Wednesday, the children were then given the opportunity to respond to the workshop in any way they wished. Some children wrote character descriptions, invitations, menus or diaries. Arthur wrote the events of the tea party from the point of view of the tea pot. Elliott C’s response is exceptionally imaginative and takes quite a lot of thought to read it.
