Year 3 were so lucky this week to take part in the CHAMpS dance festival hosted at Scholar Green.
Sophie has been visiting us to work on our choreography. As always our pupils threw themselves into the experience and their dance met a great round of applause.

We had visitors in school today for a fantastic house team event. First we met in the Great Hall where our visitor used the Sorting Hat to establish our house team leaders.
After this all the classes took part in a Quidditch contest. Pupils had great fun shooting goals and even catching the human snitch!
In class 3 we had a great time and won a bonus round! I’m sure you could hear the children’s cheers all over town!

We have been exploring pneumatic mechanisms in our design and technology lessons. Our design brief was to create a moving monster using this type of mechanism. Here are our results!

The children in year 3 have been outside learning today and finding out the different ways seeds are dispersed. They have learnt that seeds can be dispersed by wind, animals, drop and roll or by water.

The children the also found out that some seeds explode to spread their seeds so we made are own seed bombs.

Darcey and Elliott took part in a dance competition at the weekend. They came away with 4 trophies, 1 second and 2 firsts for Darcey and 5th for Elliott as well as super medals. We are very proud of their achievements.

Today in science we made predictions about which plants would grow the strongest in different conditions.

Tonight our new cooking club started by making a tropical island with bananas,apples and oranges. We used our cutting skills to cut and slice. Then we made cheese on toast.

Year 3 have been exploring Royal Portraits and have created their own Portrait of King CharlesIii. Some of these will be entered into the Rotary Club Art competition.

Tonight our Year 3 and 4 boys took part in the football competition at CHS! There was some fabulous team work and D saved lots of goals. B and R both scored in the matches catching the opposing goal keepers by surprise. Thanks to all the Y3/4 boys who trained together with Coach Dan and Mr Rowe.

A dancer from the West End came to teach us all about how we can dance out our favourite books. We looked at the story of Alice in Wonderland and we put together a dance to re-enact the story.
