Year 4 and 5 go to Eaton Bank

Year 4 and 5 were invited to Eaton Bank for a celebration of music.
As the children arrived into the hall they were greeted by a number of musicians each playing a different family of instruments.

The children were introduced to the different instruments by the conductor, who taught us about the different musical families.

Woodwind, which consisted of the flute, piccolo, oboe, clarinet and bassoon.

Brass, where we learnt about the French horn, trumpet and trombone.

String, we finished with the violin, viola and the cello.

However, there was one section that was missing, the percussion.

The children were then given the opportunity to create their own music.
Working in groups with a musician, they were given an image to put music to using the percussion instruments. They were all then able to show off their composition to the rest of the groups.
